When trying to lose weight, people flock to the gym. What some don't realize is that your diet is just as important as your exercise. Read these nutrition tips to help you with your fitness goals.
· Despite what fad diets will tell you, never cut out all carbohydrates. Carbs are the fuel that will give you energy to perform everyday tasks.
· Complex carbohydrates take 3 to 4 hours to metabolize and break up into simple sugar (or energy). Therefore, if you eat complex carbohydrates 3 to 4 hours before you work out, you will have more energy.
· Never eat within 2 to 3 hours of an intense workout. There are physiological changes that occur during digestion, which redirect blood flow from the muscles to digestion.
· Try to eat a bigger breakfast and lunch and a smaller dinner (with limited your carbs).
· Make sure to stay hydrated during your workout. You should ingest 16 ounces of water per pound lost or 8 to 10 ounces every 20 minutes.
